Are you in Houston to visit family, or perhaps to attend a business conference, or to take in some of the attractions like the Museum of Art or the Houston Symphony? You might be tempted to stay near town or downtown, but maybe you’d also like to try something different; maybe the area inside the Loop is too crowded for you, or maybe inner Houston is just a little bit inconvenient—not close enough to your family or wherever else you’re visiting. If so, you might want to consider staying in The Woodlands hotels.

The Woodlands is a relatively new suburb situated north of Houston along I-45 and is home to some of the Houston area’s most attractive exurban living, as well as its finest hotels, dining, and entertainment … important considerations for an out of town visitor. Even if you’re in town visiting family, odds are you’re not going to be with them the whole time, and during your down time, you’re not going to want to just sit in your hotel room and watch basic cable and drink out of the mini-bar. Luckily, The Woodlands is home to some fantastic entertainment for you to take advantage of.

If you have a little more money to spend on lodging, a lot of that entertainment can be found right in the hotels in The Woodlands. The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center is one of The Woodlands’ premiere hotels and resorts, with world class accommodations including a first-class pool, fine dining, and 18 holes of golf. If you want to save a little on your hotel and get out into town more, The Woodlands hotels offer a number of more affordable options and plenty of local color. The Woodlands central business district, known as The Plan, is home to great dining, entertainment, and shopping. Want something a little more exotic? Waterway Square, located in the central business district, offers gorgeous views, a charming ride on an historic trolley, and boat tours of The Plan.

There’s always something going on in The Woodlands, from golf tournaments at the conference center, to shows and conventions (also at the conference center), and concerts at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, East Texas’s premiere large concert venue. The Woodlands is also a great place to book hotels no matter what reason you’re staying in Houston; less than a half hour drive straight north of downtown on I-45 in good traffic, The Woodlands offers easy access to all parts of Houston with great local amenities and without the hassles associated with the Inner Loop. If you’re thinking about booking a hotel in Houston, don’t overlook hotels in The Woodlands.
