You may not think of a knife as something that changes or has much variety.  It is something basic that cuts and that is the extent to how most people view a knife.  To a craftsman, however, there are many different types of blades and how they cut varies as well.  Not only will a knife produce something different with a different blade, it can require more effort to cut or less effort.  Molder knives are tools used by craftsmen and come in various sizes, types, and are used for different crafts.

The knives vary not only by blade size but also by blade type.  There are corrugated knives, inlaid knives, two piece knives, and the list goes on.  If you are a craftsman working with wood, you are probably familiar with the various types but maybe not how vital it can be to have the various pieces.  You may be making do with what you have; afraid of change or maybe thinking the price of a new knife isn’t worth it.  But you should consider the fact that you may be able to get more done with a better knife. Some knives are suited better for creating certain cuts and if you are using the wrong knife, you may be working inefficiently.  This is not the best use of your time and talents.  Not only will the cut not be as precise but you may find yourself spending more time on it or even causing damage to the blade due to improper use.

Molder knives come as one piece or even as groups.  These knives make cutting more efficient and precise.  Isn’t that the goal of most craftsmen?  They want to produce more quality work with less time and effort.  It is also a wise idea to ensure the knives you are using are suited for the task in which you are using them.  Just as any piece of equipment or machinery, if you use it incorrectly, even if you are careful, it can still cause damage to the piece.  You will end up paying more for a replacement and then for the proper tool than if you had just bought the proper tool to begin with.  Most craftsmen are small business owners and the bottom line is very important to them.  Wasting machinery and tools is not an option so before you begin a task, make sure you have the right tools and the right knife blade is an important start.
