Conventions can be rather hectic, especially if you choose to use them as an opportunity to market yourself with your very own kiosk. Setting up a kiosk is an excellent way of informing people about what you’ve got to offer; maybe you’re an illustrator looking to promote your artwork in order to draw in clients, or perhaps you’re trying to sell some issues of a comic book you’ve written. Unfortunately, though, there’s more to getting people interested in whatever you’re marketing than simply having an interesting product or service. First, you need an effective advertising method to get people’s attention.
While there are many different ways to go about kiosk advertising, it’s often better to keep things simple. In many cases, a unique, nice-looking sign is all that it takes to pique someone’s curiosity, allowing quality signage to go a long way in ensuring that your kiosk gets the kind of attention that it deserves. The challenge is creating a sign that gets the job done properly. Fortunately, you don’t even have to design your kiosk advertising signage on your own; most printing companies will produce a nice poster or banner for you.
Kiosk advertising is the same as any other form of advertising in that its main goal is to convey a message to those who pass by. Your sign isn’t going to tell people all about whatever it is that you’re offering, but it should at least be able to give them a basic idea. While you won’t be creating the sign yourself, you’ll still be the final authority on its overall appearance. Therefore, you’ll need to come up with something that properly communicates the nature of your product or service to the viewer. In many cases, it’s possible to ask your printing company for help with creating a design, or you might even be able to leave the entire process to them. It all depends on which printer you choose and how hands-on or hands-off you prefer to be.
Keep in mind that at any given convention, there will be other kiosks competing for attention. In all likelihood, they’ll have their own unique advertisements, as well. In order to avoid going unnoticed, you’ve got to carry out your advertising in a way that allows you to stick out from the crowd. You need to show people that what you’re offering is something they won’t be able to get elsewhere, and you also have to make it clear that you put a lot of care and effort into promoting your kiosk. When they see your professional advertising, it’s almost guaranteed that they will spare you a moment of their time.
