A wedding dress is obviously one of the biggest areas of concern for a bride to be. However, the gown alone does not make everything come together. Rather, it is an entire ensemble. The wedding veil is another key element to the overall look that a bride wishes to have on her special day. The length of a veil, the material that a veil is made of and more all contribute to the style. Another key feature of a veil is whether or not any beading or jewelry is part of it. Beaded veils can add a most elegant touch indeed. The beading can be from a multitude of sources such as pearls, crystals, bugle beads, rhinestones, seed beads and more, just to name a few. You can also mix and match and create a veil that has both crystals and pearls, for example.
Beaded veils may be standard designs with some dresses but can also be custom designed to match either a dress or simply an overall look that is requested by the bride. Beading can be subtle, possibly only on part of the hem or it can be more elaborate in a pattern that truly commands attention and takes center stage. Brides should consider that extensive beading on a veil, as on a dress, adds to the weight of the veil and this should be taken into account with the hairdresser so that adequate support is given in the hairstyle in order to ensure the veil does not slip off due to the weight of the beading. This is especially true for longer veils or for those with heavier materials used for beading.
Brides will also want to consider if their flower girl or other attendants such as junior bridesmaids, bridesmaids or matrons of honor will have any beading. Similarly, determine if the mother of either the bride of or the groom will have beading on their gowns or any headwear or gloves that they may wear. If so, it may be a good idea to utilize the same beading material and pattern or to at least ensure that they are complementary. And, as with any feature of a wedding, nothing worn by any other person should be more elaborate than that worn by the bride as she is the focal point of the day and of the event.
Whether a bride chooses beading on her veil or no veil at all, it is worth her time to look at the options she has and ensure it matches her dress and her personal style.
